Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin, directed and produced by Nasir Hussain, was released on August 25, 1977. The movie starred Rishi Kapoor, Kaajal Kiran and Tariq in the lead roles while Zeenat Aman, Amjad Khan and Jalal Agha played importnat roles too in the movie. The hit music of the film was given by none other than R.D. Burman. Singer Mohammed Rafi won the National Film Award and Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer for crooning ‘ Kya hua tera waada ‘ song of the movie.

The movie revolves around a leather belt carrier containing diamonds which passes from person to person without anyone’s knowledge of its contents. A poor guy Rajesh ( Rishi Kapoor ) loves a rich girl Sunita ( Zeenat Aman ). But as usual Sunita’s father is against their marriage. Rajesh comes to know that his late father, who was a business man too, has entrusts his life savings in the form diamonds worth 250 million rupees to a fellow traveler, Kishorilal.

The diamonds are in a leather belt carrier belonging to a guy Sanjay ( Tariq ), who totally unknown to this. Rajesh thinks kishorilal has the diamonds and therefore he plans to meet Kaajal ( Kaajal Kiran ) as a rich guy named Manjeet Kuamr Tana. But before him, Sanjay come to the place and introduce himself as Manjeet. Kaajal came to know about the reality only after Rajesh come to the place. Later she came to know that Sanjay is her childhood love.
