Imtiaz Ali has a special place for people of Punjab in his movies and so do the people of Punjab. Both of his movies Love Aaj Kal and Jab We Met have a great deal of Punjabi culture and lifestyle depicted in them. In fact, the best response to his latest release came from that area of the country. Kamal Tiwari who played the role of Kareena Kapoor’s father in the movie Jab We Met asked Imtiaz to pay a visit to Punjab so that he could see it for himself the love and praise that the movies had received.

Therefore, Imtiaz finally decided to reciprocate and express his gratitude to the fans in the city of Chandigarh. He went over there accompanied by his lyricist Irshad Kamil. Saif Ali Khan however did not make the trip with him and has remained quiet and numb after the success of his movie and has not been seen doing interviews or making public appearances.

Imtiaz before making the trip decided to watch his movies along with his friends at the very famous Regal theatre in Mumbai. He has many memories of the place as he along with his friends used to watch some of the best movies over there during their growing days. They relived the moments of the college days and got a bit drunk after watching the movies confessed Imtiaz.

His brother was unable to make it to the party though. The people who were there included his friends Joy, Avi, Anil and Rakesh who are currently into ad films, tele-communications, ad agency, and video making respectively.
