The industry paid tribute to the extremely talented actress Smita Patil at the Dinanath Mangeshkar hall. A documentary was screened based on eth work she did in her entire career before she passed away. Many of the prominent names in the industry attended the ceremony and spoke on their association with her and how they felt about the work that she did in the industry.

Prateik Babbar was also present in the attendees. Since her mother passed away when he was very young, he never got to know her that well. The event gave him an opportunity to get to know his mother better.He feels extremely proud because of the kid of work her mother has done in the movie industry during her best years.

Even though he is known to have the fear of stage and speaking inside public functions, it was hard for even him to let go and not to speak on a platform such as that. Overcoming all the fear and those jitters, he spoke about the early influences his mother had on his life and how he has turned up. In the tribute, there was a special section for her work in Marathi cinema and her songs from those movies were played.

At the start of the show, Sachin Khedekar and Sonali Kulkarni did the commentary while a slide show ran in the background having clips from her previous movies. Just some days back there was also a book that was released which talks about her work and the movies she was a part of. Rekha released the book to the public.
