The third season of the Indian Premiere League might be some time away but already a lot of hype is being build up around the fact that who will be the big names who will show interest in buying a stake in the new franchisees that will be added this year. Now there was some interaction going on between Lalit Modi and Salman Khan very recently clearly indicating that Salman might be one of the many prospective buyers.

Modi clarified the meet with Salman and revealed that he met him and explained him the details associated with buying a stake in any one of the IPl franchisees and the minor things that need to be taken care of. He also revealed that 28 people were in talks with him who are interested in buying the new IPL franchisees and Salman is one amongst those interested.

Niranjan Shah who is the vice president of the IPl said that the teams that will be added in the next edition would most probably come from Ahmedabad, Vishakhapatnam and Nagpur. Just as it happened last time, bidding will take place and the person who makes the highest bid will become the owner of the franchisee.

Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty are the current lot of stars from the Bollywood who are co owners of the IPL franchisees. However, Sohail Khan had an opposite view in this matter. He said that Salman would not be buying any of the teams and he himself had called him up and asked him. It might be the case that Salman just had an informal enquiry with Mr. Lalit Modi.
