Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Jodha-Akbar, seems to be in a big trouble with some historians contending that the movie is factually incorrect. In the film, Jodha-Akbar are shown as a pair but in reality Jodha was Akbar’s daughter-in-law. The film stars Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Bachchan in lead roles.

According to Mohammed Amin, a historian, Jodha was actually Akbar’s bahu. She was married to his son Jehangir. Now Rajasthan’s Rajput Organisations are trying hard to block the release of film. According to them, Ashutosh has created some incorrect and irrelevant facts for the success of his film.

According to some historical documents, it’s been clear that Jehangir was the person who married Jodhabai. There is infact no evidence which can prove that Jodha was Akbar’s wife. But Ashutosh is still saying that he had referred to some books before starting the Jodha-Akbar project.

According to director, Akbar’s wife was called with different names like Manmati, Harkha etc. Gowarikar also consulted the Royal family of Jaipur for using the name Jodha for the role of Akbar’s wife before starting the film. It seems that, Ashutosh has enough material to support himself and his film.
