Jodhaa-Akbar is a forthcoming film, to be released in 2008. It is being directed and produced by Ashutosh Gowarikar, the director of Oscar-nominated Lagaan. It stars HRITHIK ROSHAN and AISHWARYA RAI BACHHAN in main roles. This film also marks the debut of Abir Abrar. After extensive research on history its shooting began recently at Karjat.

The film centers around the romance between the Mughal EmperorAkbar, (played by Hrithik Roshan) and his Hindu wife, Jodhabai, played by Aishwarya. The music will be composed by composer A.R. Rahaman.

This movie is scheduled for release on 25 january,2008. The production of this epic has faced a lot of troubles. Firstly, Aishwarya hit Hrithik with a sword while shooting a sword fight scene. Hrithik sustained a minor injury. Earlier, Hrithik while learning horse riding for this film had fallen from a horse and got wounded. Then there was a conflict with animal welfare people as Ashutosh had asked to shoot 69 elephants so he had to agree to the welfare terms to take proper care of those animals. Then there was a much delay due to sudden marriage plans of Aishwarya with Abhishek Bachchan.

The movie had created history with a record-breaking 1125 prints of the theatrical trailer across the globe. With the release of the theatrical trailer on 12th October, audiences worldwide has got the first look of the visuals of Jodhaa Akbar.

The film has loads of romance in it, which comes across in the way Akbar looks at Jodhaa and their combined body language. Their intimacy is portrayed in the way their eyes meet and they speak

Ashutosh Gowarikar sure is a man of genius in art. His magnum opus epic movie Jodhaa Akbar’s promo was visually stunning and the background score is sure to take you by surprise. The director, who earlier made acclaimed films like Lagaan and Swades, still has one song to shoot, which he will do as soon as Aishwarya returns from Boston after shooting her Pink Panther movie. So far Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya was the talk of the town. But I m sure that Asuthosh epic Jodhaa Akbar will steal the show now.
