John Abraham is quick to admit that the movie New York has changed many things for him. The first and foremost is the way that he is perceived by the industry, the critics and the audiences. He had to deal with some harsh criticism prior to this movie with many people saying that he was an actor with an expressionless face but the power packed performance in the movie New York has left every one with their mouth shut.

The credit must go to the banner stuck with him Yashraj. He had earlier worked with them in movies like Dhoom and Kabul Express. He recalls the day when he walked up to Aditya Chopra and Kabir Khan and told him to give him some extra screen time in the second half of the flick and he will take it upon himself to make sure that there is not even a single mist eye in the theatre. I guess he was true to his word with such a gripping end to the thriller.

He said with all the criticism and negativity that came in his way he just kept his head down and moved on. To remain humble in those times can be tough for anyone. Also for the first time he is being praised for his acting and not his physique as was the case with hi penultimate movie Dostana. He revealed that he is getting calls from people who never called him prior to New York.

He however is focusing all his efforts and energy on the making of 1-800 Love that is being directed by Abbas Tyrewala. He will also be having Hook Ya Crook releasing by the end of this year, which has been directed by David Dhawan.
