Bollywood movie, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, written and directed by Karan Johar was released on 11 August 2006. The movie starred Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukherjee and Preity Zinta in lead roles. The superhit music of the film was given by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The movie was distributed under the abnner of Dharma Productions. The movie was mostly shot at the ebatiful locations of New York City. the film was based on the theme of extramarital affairs. Though the movie completely failed to impress Indian audience but Proved out to be a big hit in other countries. Kajol was initially approached for playing the role of Maya, which later went into the kitty of Rani after Kajol’s refusal.

The movie starts with an ex-footballer, Dev Saran ( Shahrukh Khan ), who is unhappily married to a successful woman, Rhea ( Preity Zinta ). They have a son named Arjun. Rhea is looking after the family financially and that’s what make Dev feel embittered. On the other hand, Rishi Talwar ( Abhishek Bachchan ) is married to his childhood friend Maya ( Rani Mukherjee). Dev is not happy with the professional success of Rhea as it makes him feel down. And Maya is still finding her love for Rishi. Dev and Maya meets on an occassion.

They realize that they have the common problem. They decide to help each other in making their marriage successful. They plan various thing for their beau but things just doesn’t work the way they wanted. In the mean time Dev and Maya become more and more drawn to each other. And in an intense moment they crosses all the boundaries and sleep together. After that incicdent they starst meeting regularly and during one such meeting they are caught by Samarjeet aka Sam ( Amitabh Bachchan ), Rishi’s father and Kamaljeet ( Kirron Kher ), Dev’s mother. Sam has a fatal heart attack and on his death bed, he gives an advice to Maya. He tells her to leave his Rishi as neither of them will be able to lead a happy married life together.
