When Vikram Phadnis approached Kajol for a movie, he was not surprised when she turned him down. The reason for the rejection was that Karan Johar had already approached her for a role based on the similar lined and it no surprise when she picked Karan over Vikram who is like family to her. Vikram instead of feeling bad has moved on and now will begin to work on his second project.

He would for surely have felt bad after working on the script for close to ten months and throwing it away. The movie was based on Sarandon-Julia Roberts starrer Stepmom. Karan has bought the rights for the remake of the movie and there was no point for him going ahead with the movie although his movie was not a remake but was based on similar lines.

He originally wanted Madhuri Dixit to play the role of Julia Roberts but some things are never meant to happen the way you think. He is currently working for the movies Dulha Mil Gaya and All The Best. He is happy that he has backed off from the project and wished Karan all the best for the movie. Karan will have Kajol and Kareena Kapoor playing the leads both of whom he has earlier directed in the movie Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham.

Karan is having his hands full with work at this point has not time to party around. He is also busy with the lawsuit filed angst him in the US for not paying the hired workers. My Name Is Khan is also being delayed. He will be hoping that all the hard work will pay off in the end.
