It has been some time since the movie, Kaminey was released, but Shahid Kapur is still coming in for praise for his performance in the movie. He says that even when he read the script he knew that this dark thriller was different from all the movies that he had done so far but it was a litmus test for him. Now that the movie is released it is clear that he has passed test and once and for all broken out of his love boy image though he will still be seen romantic movies.

After giving movies like Ishq Vishk, Vivah and Jab We Met he was sort of typecast in the image of a lover boy and this movie he has helped him not only break that image but move to different genres of acting. He believes that the audiences today are accepting different movies. When he signed on for Kaminey, there were people who advised him not to do so but today when he looks back, he is glad he did not listen to those people.

Now after all this the expectations on his shoulders has increased even more and he will have to carry that burden if he has to make himself permanent in the big league which includes the likes of Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan. Dil Bole Hadippa will be releasing in a few days, there will a lot riding on this movie and with this one he is back to doing what he does best and that is romancing on screen.

He sure feels content and satisfied, as at the age of 28 years not many stars are so fortunate and privileged to get status like this in the industry.
