Kangana Ranaut in her career until now has been known doing very serious roles of parts that show him as a psychopath, alcoholic or someone stressed out. In fact in not a single movie of hers will you see her in a slightly comic role. All that is about to change as she has signed on for two out and out comedy flicks namely Tanu Weds Manu and No Problem. The former movie will be directed by Aanand L. Rai who rose to prominence after he directed the movie strangers starring Kay Kay Menon and Jimmy Shergill.

Rai confirms the fact that he too noticed the kind of roles that she had done after he looked at her filmography. The reason he signed her was because of the energy and passion that he saw in her while she was giving her the narration. She also seems to add something to the character and that is what he required. She was not afraid to put forth her point of view. The role will be poles apart from what she has done so far but she will do justice to the role.

Rai had earlier approached Konkona Sen Sharma to play the role but she had to turn down the movie, as she was preoccupied with the movies that she had signed earlier. She will be seen in the movie Wake Up Sid the promos of which have already hit the screens. Rai plans to shoot the complete movie in the next three months.

R. Madhavan will play the male lead in this lighthearted comedy. Rai will be on a visit to all the sites on which he plans to shoot the movie. The locales will include the backdrop of cities like Patiala, New Delhi, Lucknow, Kanpur and Faridkot.
