The promos of the movie go a long way in deciding the fate of the movie and from the looks of it, the promos of Wake Up Sid have made an instant impression on the minds of the audiences. Again, like Dostana, it is the concept and the mood that is doing the trick for the movie in the early stages of promotions. The youngsters are the main target audiences and they are not looking to target the multiplex audience or the audience at single theatres as such.

Karan also revealed that he was contemplating a non-English title for the movie but after many rounds of discussions, this title resonated the character Sid and they decide to stick with this one. He said that a Hindi title might have catered to a wider audience but going by the promos, this title is also proving to be enticing enough. Ayaan Mukherjee who has directed the movie was given full freedom while he directed this movie and that is showing off now.

The movie is not only about Sid played by Ranbir Kapoor but also about his parents who are in a dilemma about the level of freedom, they should give him. They cannot take all the decisions in his life and they cannot just let him out completely. Karan is hoping that the movie will do good business on the single screens as well and not just at the multiplexes.

There is a Sid that we have seen in our lives and that is the reason it will appeal to everybody. We have all had the phase that was all fun when there was no direction to life. It has all the right ingredients of a total money-spinner and an entertaining movie.
