Lara Dutta has been signed recently for Paro’s role in Sudhir Mishra’s AUR DEVDAS. Shiney Ahuja and Soha Ali Khan will also be seen portraying the roles of Devdas and Chandermukhi in this upcoming movie. According to Sudhir, Lara definitely suits the role of a strong woman like ‘paro’.

Sudhir Mishra claims that his ‘Aur Devdas’ will be completely different from Bimal Roy and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s earlier made DEVDAS. In Sudhir’s ‘Aur Devdas’, Devdas will be a man with political lineage who comes back from London. While Paro will portray the same role as in the past. The film is decided to be shot in Rajasthan, Delhi and Gurgaon.

After Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit, now it’s time for Lara Dutta and Soha Ali Khan to create the magic of their role in the modern DEVDAS. The film is to be produced by Pritish Nandy Communications. Suchitra Sen was the actresses who essayed the role of Paro first time in the past.

Earlier Sudhir Mishra also approched Rani Mukharjee for the role of Paro but she refused to do it. It seems Rani’s loss is what Lara’s gain. Lara Dutta is extremely excited to work with Sudhir Mishra. She has already received quite good reviews for her look and performance in David Dhawan’s ‘Partner‘.

According to Lara, she wants to do quality work from now onwards and therefore she has accepted the role of ‘Paro’. In Sudhir Mishra’s AUR DEVDAS, Chandermukhi will be essayed as a investment banker instead of a Dancer.

Sudhir Mishra is making the story of ‘Aur Devdas’, a gritty political drama, exactly different from the Sharat Chandra’s novel. It would be interesting to see Devdas in the role of a Politician.
