Bollywood action thriller, Maati Maange Khoon, directed by Raj Khosla was released on April 6, 1984. The movie starred Shatrughan Sinha and Reena Roy in lead roles while Raj Babbar, Rekha, Sudhir Pandey, Sudhir, Amjad Khan, Goga Kapoor, Om Puri, Dhumal, Sudhir Dalvi and Tanuja also played significant characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was given by the well known music director Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were beautifully sung by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

Hariharan alias Hariya ( Shatrughan Sinha ) is living a poor life in a villae. He is badly beaten up by the goons of Thakur Balram Singh ( Raj Babbar ). An old lady brings him home in his unconciousn state, nurses him and takes proper care of him. Soon Hariya gets well. He get shocked to learn that the women who helped him is actually his own mother. He starts living alongwith her. He reveals that his father was killed by none other than Thakur Balram Singh. Hariya seeks revenge from Balram Singh. He decides to get his land back from Balram Singh and then kill him. Balram Singh learns about the dangerous intentions of Hariya.

He plays a game and transfers Hariya’s land to his nephew’s name, who is actually a very close friend of Hariya. hariya falls in love with a girl named Sharda ( Reena Roy ) and decides to get married to her. But Sharda is actually in love with Hariya’s friend. Hariya gets enraged with this and ask her to get married to him only.
