Raaj Kumar, Govinda and Farha starrer action thriller, Marte Dam Tak, was released on July 17, 1987. The movie was directed by Mehul Kumar. The other starcast of the movie includes Om Puri, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Paresh Rawal, Shakti Kapoor and Aruna Irani in significant characters. The hit melodious music of the movie was composed by the well known music director Ravindra Jain while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Aziz, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

Rane ( Raaj Kumar ) is a dedicated, honest and brave police officer by profession. He is assigned the charge of in a new city. The city is under the threat of a nbotorious criminal named P C Mathur ( Sudhir Dalvi ). Rane wants to arrest him at any cost. He collects enough evidence against him so that he can put him behind bar. But before he could arrest Mathur, he himself gets framed in a murder case. He is proved as the culprit in court and hence sentenced to prison for seven long years by court.

Years later, Rane is released from the jail. He then joins the underworld and soon becomes a popular figure. He still seeks revenge from Mathur and tries to capture him. But his every effort goes in vain as Mathur always manage to escape at the last moment. Rane then hires a guy named Jai ( Govinda ) to catch Mathur for him. Jai manage to catch Mathur and neds up killing up. But later he get shocked to learn that the guy he killed is not the one wanted by Rane.
