Movie Review of Bombay To Bangkok

Nagesh Kukunoor’s Bombay To Bangkok is a cute romantic story. For people who are in love and those who are yet to fall in love this a must watch movie. The theme of the movie is somewhat like an old movie, Ek Duje Ke Liye in which the girl, Rati Agnihotri who belongs to a north indian family falls in love with a south indian guy, Kamal hasan.

The story revolves around Shankar ( Shreyas Talpade), a cook from Dharavi who is in desperate need of money. Unintentionally he steals money from the local Don. To escape from the clutches of a Don, he flys to bangkok with a team of Doctors. He hides his bag containing the money in one of the medicine boxes which was being shipped to Bangkok. But on arriving there he forced to stay in the camp for a few days in order to get his bag back.

In tha period he fall in love with a girl named Jasmine ( Lina Christianson). But the problem is that she is all Thai and he is unable to understand her language. After then the movie is all about run and chase of Shankar and Don.

Shreyas Talpade is fabulous in the film. His character has all shades from a caring son to a confused love idiot to a fake doctor. There are some quite appreciable scenes in the movie like when the two lovers runs around in circles to get into each others rooms in the middle of the night. Lina looks cute and sexy at times. The scenes where both of the lovers try to communicate with each other are seems to be good enough. Naseeruddin Shah has also played his character okay-okay.

Talking about the music of the film, it’s not so scorching but the title track We are same, same but different rocks with the hot dance of Shreyas and Lina. Though the movie loose some assistance in between the story but that is overshadowed by some very fine acting of the actors.
