Movie review of Dhol
Priyadarshan is again in the field with a comic caper Dhol which is irrational, but funny. Dhol has some hilarious moments to make you laugh at loud. Priyan has taken the same topic which every other director is taking in their films. Dhol is again a story of four vellas friends who lives in dreams not in reality. Dhol is infact a bollywood version of superhit Malayalam film Harihar Nagar.
Dhol is a story of four friends - Sam (Tusshar Kapoor), Pakya (Sharman Joshi), Maru (Rajpal Yadav) and Goti (Kunal Khemu). They all want to live life king size without doing any effort for that. They find out a shortcut to success but can’t make it right. They all are trying to find a rich girl who will marry them to make them rich. Suddenly a rich girl Ritu ( Tanushree Dutta) comes to their neighbourhood for their rescue.
Dhol has some very funny moments indeed. The film starts with a bang, when all four stupids beats the family members( mistaken them as Gundas) while carrying a pregnant women in car to hospital. This starting scene make you understand what more is in store. There are several more instances which will make you laugh like pushing Om Puri’s car till it falls off a cliff, four spraying water on Tanushree’s home thinking it is on fire. And the scene when Murli Sharma enquires the four about the dhol is infact the best scene of the movie.
All the four actors have done their part very well but the one who steals the show is Rajpal Yadav. Rajpal is again standing tall among them with his superb comic timing. Rajpal Yadav has no comparison, he masters his act as a dumb idiot. Tanushree and Payal Rohatgi has nothing to do in this film. Om Puri and Asrani are good and played their characters with ease. Rasika Joshi as the landlady has also performed quite well in her scenes.
Pritam’s music is good enough to listen as they match the situation in the movie. Cinematography is also okay. The story of four good for nothing men is interesting in itself. Onto this Priyadarshan is the director of this movie. So, this movie deserves to be successfull at Box Office too. What’s your opinion about marrying a girl of ‘amir’ gharana!!!!!
