Movie review of Mithya
Mithya is a mature effort of the director, Rajat Kapoor. This film is completely different in it’s concept from the old masala type films of bollywood. The movie actually breaks the myth that hindi movies are always mindless and boring sort of things.
The film is simply based on the life of a struggling actor. However the concept of the another released movie, Superstar starring Kunal Khemu, is very much same to Mithya. But the treatment of Mithya is completely different from Superstar. The movie is a complete package of thrill, romance and suspense.
Mithya surprises you every moment with a new twist and turn in story. You would not be able to predict what will happen next in the movie. The movie is not all and all comedy but a suspense thriller too. Infact the movie changes gear from comedy to suspense with a great hold on script.
The story of the movie is about a struggling actor who is working hard to make it big in bollywood industry. But his life got changed totally when he unintentionally got involved in underworld’s community. What happens next is the suspense and the rest of the story. The movie can be termed as a black comedy.
Talking about acting, Ranvir Shorey is at his best with a brilliant performance in the film. But the other actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Vinay Pathak, Harsh Chhaya and Neha Dhupia also looks good in their character and can’t be ignored at all. Naseeruddin Shah is however performing a very small role in the film.
The credit should be given to the director’s vision and the way he managed to transform his vision in a fantastic movie. Mithya is more likely to be the first successful venture of this year. The brilliant performance of all the actors in it provides an extra edge to the movie.
