Music biggies to watch out for in 2007
Now take a look at some of the most awaited music of the most awaited movies, due in the later half of 2007. to begin with we have none other than the top most scorer A. R. Rahman, whose soulful compositions in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Akbar-Jodha will hopefully add more spark to the already sizzling chemistry of Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai ( remember Dhoom 2 ;)). And it’s conformed that this time there won’t be any kiss. Though critics argue that Rahman of late has lost his touch, but the very name of his being associated with a project, especially of this proportion is proof enough that with Javed Akhtar’s lyrics he will surely create some great magic.
Moving on, we have the next most awaited film of the year, that’s Saawariya, by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, starring Ranbir Kapoor (son of Rishi and Neetu Kapoor) opposite Sonam Kapoor ( daughter of Anil Kapoor), along with Rani Mukerjee. Everyone is aware of the kind of melodies that accompany SLB’s movies, but this time it will be a bit different. Remember Ismail Durbar who did the music for his Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas, two of bollywood’s greatest musical hits? Well, Ismail is not at the helm this time, but it’s Monty Sharma, who is best known for having given the haunting background score of both Devdas as well as Black. Anyone who has watched Devdas will surely remember the theme, with the ‘arre o Devaa…’ finely etched in it. This time Sanjay Leela Bhansali took a huge risk by assigning Monty as the complete music score of Saawariya. But with Monty’s previous records, seems like this risk will pay off well. The lyrics are by Sameer, who also worked on Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
And finally we have Salim-Sulaiman, who have given the music for another YRF movie Chak De India this year. But we are talking about Aaja Nachle, by Anil Mehta and Aditya Chopra, which will mark the return of Madhuri Dixit to the silver screen this year, along with Konkona Sen Sharma, Kunal Kapoor, and more. Well, these two guys also gave the background score of Dhoom:2 last year. Madhuri returns to the screen after 5 years, having last been seen in the 2002’s biggest hit Devdas, during the shooting of which she was pregnant;of course that’s if you don’t remember the sleeper hit Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, which came after it, and was allegedly 7 years in the making.
Well, that’s it. We’ll be back with lots more.
