Music Review of ‘RAM GOPAL VERMA KI AAG’

Ram Gopal Verma factory’s movies are never known for their music. But this time the music of his latest movie RAM GOPAL VERMA KI AAG is creating waves in the sea. Actually in this movie RGV has used four different music directors - Ganesh Hegde, Prassanna Shekhar, Nitin Raikwar and Amar Mohile for different songs. Atleast for this thing album deserves some attention. RGV has taken only ‘Mehbooba Mehbooba‘ song from the original film ( Sholay). There is no ‘Yeh Dosti‘, ‘Koyi Haseena jab rooth‘ and ‘Holi Ke Din‘ in RGV’s AAG.

Mehbooba-Mehbooba‘ is the first track of the album crooned by Amitabh Bachchan, Sunidhi Chauhan and Sukhwinder Singh. On comparing this song from both the original and remake, RGV’s version don‘t look that much bad.

The next track in the album,’Ruk Ja‘ is totally a Tapori kind of track sung by Vinod Rathod and Sunidhi Chauhan. This song has it’s tune set in the style of RGV’s ‘yaaron sun lo zara(RANGEELA)’.

‘Cha Raha’ is a steamy song choreographed on Ajay Devgan and Nisha Kothari rendered by Vinod Rathod and Shweta Pandit. This song is written and composed by RGV’s almost regular Nitin Raikwar.

‘Holi’ has Ravindra Upadhyaye, Shweta Pandit, Farhad Bhiwandiwala, Shreya Ghoshal and Sudesh Bhonsle( for Amitabh) teaming up for the song. This song has good rhythm but not like the original ‘Holi ke din’ featured on Dharmendra and Hema Malini.

‘Hai Aag Yeh’ is a situational song indeed while ‘Jee Le’ is so loud and tuneless that you can simply avoid hearing this song. ‘Dum’ is once again crooned by Vinod Rathod but again fails to deliver anything.

The last song of the album is once again Mehbooba-remix which is not so good like the unremixed version. Try to avoid listening this album except Urmila’s ‘Mehbooba-Mehbooba’.
