Once again after his modest and sincere effort in the low budget film CHOORIYAN, Sukhwinder Singh is all set to lead as a music director in his forthecoming Bollywood Movie “KAAFILA“, starring Sunny Deol in a dynamic role.

Kaafila, which is in the making for two years and is now getting ready for release expected to be benifitted with the recent success of the “Apne“( three Deol trio). As the film is based on the current global issue on illegal immigration, so Sukhwinder Singh has tried a variety of fast and slow paced songs in it.

“Hum Raks” song in the album is sung by both Daler Mehndi and Sukhwinder Singh. The song blends Turkish and North Indian flavor and turns out to be a decent hearing. And most of all it’s club mix by Raju Shankar is quite a good dance track.

“Lodhi Di Raat” is about the Punjabi harvest festival “Lodhi” but this track certainly fails to fuse anything significant.

Sukhwinder singh in the track “Sandesha aaya” tried very hard to make it the best track of the album. The song is all about the loneliness of a journey sans your loved one. Also the famous Rajasthani folk song introduced in the beginning of the song is truely bless.

“Chala kaafila” can also be labeled as the theme track and perhaps it’s the track with good listenable quality in it.

“khabi khabi sapne bhi” is a song filled with emotions therefore is used many times throughout the film. This is really a touching song, about the dreams and aspirations of the immigrants, who are far away from their homeland. Infact the use of Banjo has produced a sparkling effect in it.

“jab tak hai saans” is a tuneless number crooned by Sukhwinder singh and abhijeet (there’s also a female voice but no idea of whom).

I would still recommend this album as this album is actually worth buying unlike some of the songs that have been released this year!
