It came and it conquered, and for the next two years it became a rage all over India! We are talking about Nach Baliye three, the third season of India’s most watched dance extravaganza, where real life couples from the Indian media, slug it out with each other, on different themes to get the ultimate crown of being the greatest dancers as well as some cool and hard cash.

This season of Nach Baliye has done away with it’s maverick judges. In the first season of the show, ace choreographer Saroj Khan, along with sultry siren item girl Malaika Arora Khan, and film director Farhan Akhtar took to judging the couples. The second innings of the show saw Farhan Akhtar, being replaced by Kunal Kohli, as the former was busy with directing Shah Rukh Khan in Don.

But this time, while speculation was rife that Kunal Kohli would be the only one to be replaced, the producers haven’t just changed all the judges but the channel telecasting the show as well. What we have now is ‘Khallas’ gal, the mesmerising Ishaa Koppikar, replacing Malaika Arora Khan, and David Dhawan filling in the directors’ slot. But the queen bee of Indian film chopreography Saroj Khan has been replaced by none other than her own student Vaibhavi Merchant.

Vaibhavi Merchant is the same choreographer, whose beautifully synchronized dance moves were perhaps the only thing in last year’s disaster Umrao Jaan, where the most beautiful woman in the world Aishwarya Rai Bachchan moved gracefully to her directions. All in all, we have a great team of judges though audiences would still take time to accept them as the previous ones, especially Malaika and Saroj-ji are sacrosanct for everyone.
