John Abraham who is currently keeping busy promoting his upcoming movie New York recently told the press that the movie does bear some resemblance to the movie Khuda Kay Liye which was released last year. The movie was a huge hit and it dealt with how Muslims were treated in the US post 9/11. John says that even if you have a look at the promos of New York you will be able to see some striking similarities.

In fact, where Khuda Kay Liye ended this movie seems to begin from over there. The difference comes in with the directors. Both the directors will interpret the situations in their own peculiar way and will have researched differently on the subject, which affects in a great way how you shoot the movie. John will be playing the charcter of Kabir Khan who is a NRI Muslim living over there in the US.

John says the overall story is different though but when you have a Muslim being detained over there for no reason post 9/11, it is bound to look a bit similar. Sharing the screen space with him in the movie will be Neil Nitin Mukesh and Katrina Kaif. The movie will tell the story of these three college going friends and how their lives take a dramatic turn after the 9/11 attacks.

John has given his word to Kabir Khan that the movie will win every popular award next year. The last time he gave his word during the shooting of Kabul Express turned out to be true with Kabir winning the best debutant director.
