Sonam Kapoor who is just two films old in the industry is taking all the right steps. Both the movie that she has done so far have not fared to well at the box office but her performances in both the movies Delhi 6 and Saawariya have received praise from both the audiences and the critics. Since then she has become even more cautious while choosing the scripts and the roles.

She does not want to restrict her to serious movies and is open to hardcore commercial movies. She says if the script has her role well defined and well written she will surely do it. She will next be seen in Ayesha and her father Anil Kapoor is producing the movie. The problem she has with hardcore commercial movies is that women in the movies are just used as eye candy.

There role they have is not substantial or meaningful. However there are movies that have meaty roles for women in them and at the same time, they are hardcore commercial movies. When asked if she would name some movies. She came up with movies like No Entry and Dostana. In No Entry, the role of Lara Dutta was very good and nicely put together. Priyanka Chopra had a more than substantial role in Dostana and looked very good throughout the movie.

Apparently, both movies had some connection to her. In No Entry Lara plays the wife of her father Anil Kapoor whereas in Dostana her Delhi 6 co-star Abhishek Bachchan plays the male lead. Maybe in the time to come we will see Sonam in a hardcore commercial movie.
