Parvatty Omankuttam, the Miss India World, could not get the crown of Miss World but was adjusted 1st runner-up. After Priyanka Chopra (2000), no Indian has achieved this feat. She very narrowly missed the great opportunity of wearing the Miss World crown and has attributed her luck factor for this. She has regret that she could not match the fate of Rita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999) and Priyanka Chopra (2000), and has decide to calm herself by going for a long vacation.

She said that she did her best and very much disappointed at the Miss World pageant held at Johannesburg. She will be continuing her modeling assignments. Besides, she is also open to good Bollywood offers but has not planned her future. She is also planning to visit the site of the terror attack of November 26, Trident and Taj Hotel, to pay homage to the martyrs and the victims.

She described her experience at the Miss World Contest as overwhelming and full of enjoyment. She made many good friends over there. All were like her, pursuing their dreams to win the crown and become famous in the world. Parvatty, a Mumbai girl, is basically from Kerala and her father works at one of the attacked hotel, Trident. She told that getting selected to represent India at the Miss World contest was an achievement in itself and getting so much success was really a dream come true.

Parvatty lost the crown to Miss Russia but she got a huge welcome here at the airport on her return from Johannesburg. We are proud of her as she has done a great job. Her luck did not favored her and so she lost by a narrow margin. So cheer her and hope that we get this title the next year.
