Piyush Jha is receiving positive reviews for his movie Sikandar. The movie stars the teenagers Ayesha Kapoor and Parzan Dastur how were once child prodigies. He had reasons to caste them. Both of them had been away from the cameras for some time and that would have brought the freshness back in them. In addition, the skill set and the experience they have had helped. The maturity levels they showed on the sets were amazing and followed the instructions exactly.

They have those professional qualities at this young age, which is amazing to see. With the movie, he plans to show that any Kashmir kid has the dreams and aspirations as a kid from any other stare of India. He also wants to become a star like Shahrukh Khan and or a cricketing great like Sachin Tendulkar. They also want to have the latest gadgets and gizmos. No one dreams of become a terrorist of oiling an AK 47 machine gun.

The story is about a boy who lands in trouble and when he tries to get out of it, he is further involved and entangled in it. Shooting in the valley was the most pleasurable experience he had so far. The people want the filmmakers to go come back there and shoot. The valley seems to have become a forbidden place whereas movies like Betaab where completely shot over there. They even have named the valley Betaab valley.

Who can forget Shammi Kapoor in the Junglee song dancing in the snow capped valley. The movie is based on his research on militancy in the area and he has tried to keep the politics of that place in the backdrop of the movie.
