Dev Anand and Geeta Bali starrer crime thriller, Pocket Maar, was released in the year 1956. The movie was written and directed by Harnam Singh Rawail. The other starcast of the movie includes Nadira, Ramayan Tiwari, Lalita pawar, Madan Bhandari, Bhagwan Sinha, Sunder, Sheetal and Krishan Kumar in significant characters. The evergreen music of the movie was given by the legendary music director Madan Mohan while the songs were beautifully sung by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Geeta Dutt etc.

Roshan ( Dev Anand ) is living a poor lifestyle alongwith his mother in Bombay. Roshan is a criminal and makes his liiving by pickpocketing. However, his mother thinks that he is employed in a good firm. Roshan gets an offer from a guy named Shankar, who wants to hire him. But Roshan refuse to accept his offer. Roshan steals some money from a guy named Mohan. He later reveals that Mohan has killed himself because the money was for his mother and unmarried sister, Shukal, who are living in a village.

Roshan feels guilty for his deed and decides to travle to the village in order to return money to Shukal and her mother. He introduces himself as Mohan’s friend to Shukal and her mother. Shukal falls in love with Roshan. Roshan returns to city after spending some time with them in village. After few months, he meets with Shukal in the city, who ahs arrived alongwith her mother in the city to search Mohan.
