Each one of us has some fear that we would like to overcome if given a chance. Preity Zinta overcame her fear of snakes on the sets of his movie Videsh. The snake was the king cobra and its venom can kill you instantly. Deepa Mehta who was directing the movie told Preity that they could shoot the scene on a computer but Preity insisted that the movie should look as real as possible so they shot the scene with a real snake.

In the scene, Preity puts her hand inside a hole in the ground, pulls out a snake, and then wraps it around her neck. Quite a tough scene to do and previously only Pooja Bedi has shot with real snake in a movie. In the movie, she has put in a powerful performance playing the character of a wife who is physically abused by her husband. She says that many women will be able to identify with her character.

Preity has even won the award for the best actress at an international award show. Preity also accepted that the snake scared the hell out of her and she even thought of running form the sets of the movie while they were shooting at minus twenty degrees. The hard work that they had put in the movie has finally paid off.

The movie will be released in India this Friday along with Aa Dekhen Zara which more of a sci fiction movie. The two movies will battle it out this Friday. The two movies belong to completely different genres that might work in their favor and both the movies might do well at the box office. Videsh has already started receiving critical praise.
