The auction of the IPL 2009 was held at the Goa recently and the event was attended by many celebrities from all fields ranging from the world of sports, business and entertainment.

Though this year did not witness the presence of Shah Rukh Khan but it was Juhi Chawla along with her husband Jai Mehta who didn’t let SRK’s absence felt. Shahrukh’s team Kolkata Knight Riders has a list of high quality and skilled players but this year the team has only one change. Kolkata Knight Riders major purchase this year was only the Bangladeshi player Mashrafe Mortaza.

The team that made its presence felt last year was Preity Zinta’s Kings XI Punjab. Though the team was not able to make it to the top four teams of the tournament but this year Preity Zinta is very confident of making it. This was the reason why she with her partner Ness Wadia was bidding relentlessly to own their preferred players. Their major purchase was the English all-rounder Ravi Bopara and West Indian fast bowler Jerome Taylor.

The victorious team Rajasthan Royals team found an owner in the beautiful actress Shilpa Shetty this year. Shilpa with her partner Raj Kundra purchased the not much known players like Shaun Tait from Australia and Tyron Henderson from South Africa.
