Shashi Kapoor and Sadhana Shivdasani starrer romantic bollywood drama, Prem Patra, was released in the year 1962. The movie was directed by Bimal Roy. The other starcast of the movie includes Rajendra nath, Bela Bose, Seema Deo, Sadhana Khote, Keshto Mukherjee, Chand Usmani, Praveen Chaudhary and Padmadevi in important characters. The hit melodious music of the movie was composed by the very famous music director Salil Chaudhary while the songs were crooned by Mukesh, Talat Mehmood, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

Arun Kumar Mathur ( Shashi Kapoor ) is living a wealthy lifestyle alongwith his parents in the city. He is the student of medical. he come across a beautiful girl named Kavita Kapoor ( Sadhana Shivdasani ), who also takes admission in the same college. Soon they both falls in love with each other. But a misunderstanding occurs between the two as a result of which Arun leaves the college as well as the town. Arun’s marriage is arranged with Saroj ( Seema Deo ) and Arun agrees for the marriage. But little does he knows is that Kavita is a relative of Saroj.

Arun meets with an accident and looses his eyes in the accident. He gets hospitilized and needs someone to take care of him. Saroj is unable to go there and sends Kavita on her place. Kavita takes good care of him but never tells him about her real identity. Arun thinks that the women, who is taking care of him is Saroj. After spending some more time with him, Kavita learns that Arun still hates her. What will happen when Arun gets his eyes back?
