There used to be days when the big names like Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan were the only ones who used to get a chance to work with the Yashraj banner but now things have changed. Yashraj has signed on Purab Kohli and Meiyang Chang for a movie. Purab left a great impression in his last movie Rock On. Apparently, this one is also going to a musical.

The story will revolve around 5 to 6 people who get together and forma rock band of their own. The USP of the band will be that it will be a Punjabi band. Parmeet Sethi will direct the movie. Playing the main leads in the movie will be Shahid Kapur along with Anushka Sharma. All the people in the movie are young and that was the requirement of the script.

Meiyang Chang has gone from strength to strength after winning the Indian Idol. He hosted the last edition of the IPL held in South Africa and did a nice job. He seems to have lost his singing touch though but he is confident that a month and two of practice will help him get the touch back. He will not be required to do any singing in this movie though. His charcter will have some grey shaded to it.

Pritam will be providing the music in the movie. The shoot for the movie will begin in the month of July. Standup comedian Veer Das has also been signed to play a pivotal part in the moive. No title has been locked on as of now.
