Rahman on the same table as Oprah and Obama
The rollercoaster ride for Rahman has not ended and he is still waiting for it to get over. Since the day, he won the Oscars for his music score in the movie Slumdog Millionaire he has been travelling from place to place. He says that there are times when he is in more than one city on the same for consecutive days. He has been shuffling back and forth, as people everywhere want to felicitate him with an award and he has no option but to oblige.
He recently made it to the Time’s list of 100 most influential people in the world and at the night of the function, he shared the table with Barrack Obama and Oprah Winfrey. Now you really need to be influential if you get to share the table with those people. When his name was called, there was a huge roar from the people shouting Jai Ho.
He says that after the success of Slumdog, the west has opened their gates to the Indian talents and unlike the yester years, the companies over there are now ready to hear what our artistes have to offer. He though misses spending time with his children but when he is with them, he does have a nice time as they are also into music and they all are on the same wavelength.
His wife had her dream fulfilled when she walked on the red carper with her husband. Maybe it is time for some bigger dreams. Rahman in the meantime is still waiting for the euphoria to get over so that he can get back to work.
