Rani got a notice from Ahmednagar district collectorate.

A notice is issued to Rani Mukherjee by Ahmednagar district collectorate in the fake land deal case. Now she has to prove herself as a farmer in order to be declared as a rightfull owner of the land.

According to Deputy Collector of Ahmednagar, N Suryavanshi, this is an agricultural land and cannot be transferred outright to a non-farmer like Rani Mukherjee. She has to pay fine more as per the current market rate. Secondly, she will have to prove that she is a farmer since the land is an agricultural plot.

Rani will have to pay extra money according to market rate which is currently Rs 7-8 lakh per 1000 sq ft, if she will be alloted the land. In 2005, she had purchased 11,000 sq ft(1/4 of an acre) for Rs 33 lakh in a village near the temple town in Ahmednagar district to construct a bunglow. The reason for this purchase was that Rani is a strong believer of Shirdi Sai Baba. The registration fees which she paid was around Rs 1.32 lakh.

But now Mr. Ram Mukherjee Rani’s father informed by the collector’s office that the land was for farming and could not be transferred to Rani’s name. ”We have issued notices to all the people concerned with the land and we are investigating this case along with 17 other such cases that have come to light. If this land is found non-farming, then the actress could buy it outright,” Suryavanshi said.
