Rani Mukherjee after ruling the box office for few years seems to be battling herself out of a slump. In addition, unlike other actors it is not her acting talent or prowess that is being doubted but rather her ability to pick up good scripts that will justify her as an actor. Also the fact that she has restricted herself to mostly Yashraj banner movies might prove as a hindrance in her path.

Her performance in her last three movies Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, and Saawariya has been disappointing to say the least. She used to rule the hearts of the audiences at once and she will try to reclaim that spots wither next and upcoming movies. For her a lot will be riding on her next movie Dil Bole Hadippa that is again been made under the banner of Yashraj. The fact that she shares the screen space with Shahid Kapur in that one might help as he is riding on a huge wave of momentum.

Now to help her overcome the slump she has also looked for divine help. She is now fasting every Thursday and had pledged to do so for 40 consecutive weeks. She is already into her third month and after that, she plans to have a puja inside the Sai Baba temple at Shirdi. She will not be the first actor from Bollywood in doing pujas like this Govinda is also known to be very superstitious in these matters.

Maybe once again, she will be known for the performer she is as we saw in the movies Black and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna amongst the many others.
