Beautiful and glamorous bollywood actress, Rani Mukherjee was born on March 21, 1978 in Kolkata. He belongs to a typical Bengali family. Her father name is Ram Mukherjee and mother name is Krishna. His brother is a film producer and director. Her cousin, Kajol, is also a famous bollywood actress and she did a superhit film alongwith her in the form of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. She did her schooling at Maneckji Cooper High School and completed her graduation at Mithibai College. Very few knows that she started learing ‘odissi’ dance form when she was studying in tenth class. She is a trained odissi dancer.

She made her debut in the bollywood industry with a super flop romantic family drama, Raja Ki Aaayegi Barat. The movie was a women oriented flick and showcased Rani in a dynamic role but despite of good efforts of Rani, the movie failed to get any success at the box office. She then returned to her studies and completed her graduation. She then made a comeback in the year 1998 with a movie titled Ghulam in which she starred opposite none other than ‘perfectionist’ Aamir Khan. The movie was a huge hit and Rani had first hit film of her career. She became famous with the nick name of ‘Khandala Girl’ because of the hit song ‘ Aati kya khandala’ in the film.

She gave another hit film of her career in the form of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in which she starred alongside Shahrukh Khan and Kajol. Thoush she played second fiddle in the film but her performance was appreciated by the audience as well as critics. She also won the Best Supposting Actress award for her fine performance in the film. After that she delieverd many hit films like Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Chalte Chalte, Saathiya, Veer Zaara, Black etc. But from quite some time in past, she is suffering from the bad phase of her career. Her latest released Dil Bole Hadippa also failed to get success at the box office. She played the female lead in the film opposite handsome bollywood actor, Shahid Kapoor.
