Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz starrer romantic action crime thriller, Sachaa Jhutha, was released in the year 1970. The movie was directed by Manmohan Desai and written by Prayag Raj. The other starcast of the movie includes Santosh Kumar, Vinod Khanna, Jagdish Raj, Kirti Kumar, Kumari Naaz, Faryal, Praveen Paul and Viju Khote in important characters. The hit melodious music of the movie was directed by the well known veteran music director duo Kalyanji Anandji while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

Innocent Bhola ( Rajesh Khanna ) arrives in the city to earn money for the marriage of his young sister. Bhola is a musician and wants to earn money for making a dowry for his crippled sister. Bhola get shocked when some people identifies him as a rich businessman of the city named Ranjit Kumar ( Rajesh Khanna ). He meets with Ranjit and Ranjit decides to train him to take his place in order to save himself from police. Ranjit is actually a smuggler and diamond theif. Police has doubt on him but does not have sufficient proof against him.

Soon Bhola gets trained and he becomes ready to take Ranjit place. Ranjit tells him that he is doing some good work for the mankind and in this he requires his help. Bhola agrees to help him. Bhola meets with a beautiful girl named Meena ( Mumtaz ) and soon they both falls in love with each other. Little does Bhola knows is that Meena’s real name if Rita and she is a undercover police officer.
