As bizarre, as it may sound the director Suparn Verma of the movie Acid Factory had to formally announce he had directed the movie and not Sanjay Gupta who hires him to do the job. Now a thing like this can be both embarrassing and dumb to do. Even a day before the movie the audiences remain unclear about who the director is and a part of the blame has to be given to the print media how kept using Sanjay’s name in relation to the movie.

Suparn came out saying that no owner of a production house would be stupid enough to hire a director pay him a hefty pay cheque and then do the entire work of direction himself. With so many movies in various staged of production it cannot be possible for Sanjay to even look into direction matters. He had the belief in me as a director that is why he offered me the work in the first place.

Big producers like Karan Johar, Mahesh Bhatt, and Aditya Chopra have also faced similar charges. With so many new directors, emerging it is hard to keep track of who is taking care of which project. Suparn has however directed the movie Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena a few years back. He said that the only advice Sanjay offered him was not to copy his style of direction and not to think like him while taking decisions on the sets.

Suparn says that he believes that his style of direction is unique and is hoping that the audiences will like his work when it is released this Friday at the box office. The movie stars Irrfan Khan, Manoj Bajpai, Fardeen Khan, Dia Mirza, Danny, Dino Morea, and Aftab Shivdasani.
