Shabana speaks at the United Nations summit
On the eight of July, a United Nations summit took place in Afghanistan. The topic, which was to be discussed or so to say talked about at the summit, was Silence Is Violence—End The Abuse Of Women In Afghanistan. Shabana Azmi was given the honor of being the main speaker at the summit. The thing was that she was speaking about stopping violence on women in the most violent country there is in eth world.
Her entire family was concerned about her safety while she was leaving to speak at the summit. She without caring of the dangers that were out there went about her job in a very professional way. She has been representing India and women on the international stage for a very long time. The Human Rights Commission present in Kabul and the Human Rights wing part of the United Nations supported the summit.
At the conference, they talked about how the women in Afghanistan were ill-treated and denied of the basic human rights. Shabana they felt would be the right voice to help the women in the country and take the summit forward. Also talked were the ways to strengthen the laws against women violence and bring down the number of cases.
She also recalled her last visit to Kabul. At that time, Najibullah was the president and he had invited over them to dinner. Najibullah sang a song of Mukesh, which said Mujhe Tumse Kuch Bhi Na Chahiye. Javed Akhtar at that time joked saying that whether the president was singing the song for the Russians.
