Shahid Kapur recently spoke at length about his life and movie Kaminey in an interview recently. Here are a few excerpts from the interview. When asked what has changed over the years he replied back saying that he has become more self assured and after working with Vishal Bhardwaj he has entered into another territory altogether where he is ready to experiment and try out to different things and at the same time appeal to the masses.

The best part playing the characters of Charlie and Guddu he says that the audiences will surely come out loving one of them. When asked how was he like when compared to his characters in the movie. He replied saying that he has lived both of them at some point in his life. When he was in Delhi as a kid, he was more like Charlie strong and the so-called tough guy at school.

However, when he moved to Mumbai he was an outsider and at first felt like an outcast somewhat similar to Guddu. The fact that there were only three girls in his class helped a lot as the guys never paid attention to the new guy over there. Now the tough part in shooting came when he had to switch between the two characters and there was not time for that in between shots.

He said the makeup people helped a lot in hiding that well built physique of Charlie. Now do not compare this one with the tom hanks starrer cast away as in that tom has two different physical appearances whereas in this one the differentiating factor will be the way they speak. Guddu stammers while Charlie does lisping. He also revealed that he and Pankaj Kapur never discuss work at home.
