Former bollywood actress, Sharmila Tagore, was born on December 8, 1946 in Uttar Pradesh, India. She is married to former cricketer, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. They have three childrens Saif Ali Khan, Soha Ali Khan and Saba Ali Khan. Saif and Soha are also bollywood actors by profession. Sharmila started her acting career in bollywood with Shakti Samanta’s Kashmir Ki Kali opposite Shammi Kapoor. The film did fairly well at the box office. After that she gave another hit movie with Shammi Kapoor in the form of An Evening In Paris. She was then paired up with Rajesh Khanna in Aradhna and delivered another hit film. She won her first Filmfare Best Actress Award for her performance in the film.

Her collaboration with Rajesh Khanna also remained for few more hit films such as Amar Prem, Daag, Safar etc. She also paired up with Shashi Kapoor in the movie titled Aa Gale Lag Jaa which also became an instant hit. She played a very powerful role opposite Sanjeev Kumar in 1975 released Mausam. She played a double role in the film one of a simple village girl and other of a bold sex worker. Her powerpacked performance in the film also earned her National Film Award for Best Actress. Then came her first comic flick titled Chupke Chupke opposite Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan.

She worked in many hit films including Aamanush, Namkeen, desh Premme etc in the period of 1975-1984. Later she turned towarsd playing character roles in the movie like Sunny, Aashiq Awara, Mann, Dhadhkan etc. She also played lead role oppoiste Amitabh bachchan in Viruddh. Her last venture in a supporting role was with comedy film Fool N Final. She also played reel life mother of his soon Saif Ali Khan in Eklavya: The Royal Guard.
