Bollywood action drama, 36 Ghante, directed by Raj Tilak and written by Akhtar-Ul-Imaan was released in the year 1974. The movie starred Raaj Kumar and Mala Sinha in lead roles while Sunil Dutt, Parveen Babi, Vijay Arora, Ranjeet, Danny Denzongpa, Iftekhaar, Jagdish Raj, Deven Verma, Jankidas, Ramesh deo and Master Shailesh also played importasnt roles in the film. The hit evergreen music of the movie was directed by the famous music director Sapan Chakroborthy while the songs were rendered by Mahendra Kapoor, Mukesh, Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie start with a family headed of Ashok Rai ( Raaj Kumar ). His family comprises of his wife, Deepa ( Mala Sinha ), a young son and a younger sister, Naina ( Parveen Babi ). Naina is in love with a guy named Vijay ( Vijay Arora ) and planning to get married with him soon. But problem arises when three jailed convicts, Himmat ( Sunil Dutt ), his brother Ajit ( Ranjeet ) and their friend, Dilawar ( Danny Denzongpa ) break out of prison and forcefully enters in Ashok Rai’s home to atke shelter for some time.

Himmat tells Ashok that they will stay in their home until their female partner, Kamini contacts and arranges for their freedom. Police are after the three criminals and it would not be possible for them to leave the country that easily. Ashok Rai and his family have to face some very bad time with these three criminals. However they tries to throw them out but fails. What will he do now?
