Songs of 7½ Phere
The comedy movie 7½ Phere was released on July 29, 2005 under the banner of Epitome Entertainment Pvt Ltd. The movie was directed by Isshaan Trivedi and produced by Nimit Modawal and Sonal Malhotra. The major roles were played by Irrfan Khan, Anang Desai, Juhi Chawla and Manoj Pahwa while Neena Kulkarni and Lalit Tiwari were also there in the film. The music was directed by A R Rahman and the songs were sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, Shazia Manzoor, Antara Choudhary and Lata Mangeshkar.
The movie was earlier titled as “Dekhna Na Bhoolein” before being titled as 7½ Phere. The movie is based on theme of Reality TV and explores the relationships in the modern Indian families. Asmi Ganatra ( Juhi Chawla ) working for The National TV Network decides to produce shows based on marriages in Indian families. Asmi is a debutante director who notices that presently there is only one family of Joshi’s which is meeting her requirements. She visits their family at their home and when the Joshi’s saw her at their home they were surprised.
Asmi requested them to cover the marriage for her TV network. Bride’s father liked the idea but some of them vote it down. She notices that the bride’s youngest uncle Manoj Joshi ( Irrfan ) started liking her. Asmi knew that her job would be in danger if she could not arrange for the shootout of the real wedding thus she lured Manoj to convince him if she can setup the secret cameras to cover the wedding. Cameras were setup and the wedding was recorded with each person giving his natural shot as no one knew about it. Their privacy was revealed now to increase the channel’s TRP ratings.
