Bollywood action thriller, Aag, directed by K. Ravi Shankar was released on August 12, 1994. The movie starred Govinda and Shilpa Shetty in lead roles while Sonali Bendre, Mohnish Behl, Shakti Kapoor, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Vikas Anand, Gulshan Grover, Goga KapoorKadar Khan and Viju Khote also played important characters in the film. The music of the movie was given by Dilip Sen and Sameer Sen in collaboration while the songs were rendered by Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, Poornima, Sonu Nigam, Ila Arun, Sudesh Bhonsle and Hariharan. The movie managed to do well at the box office window.

Raju ( Govinda ) is a poor orphan guy living with his younger sister, Laxmi. Raju meets with a beautiful girl named Parul ( Sonali Bendre ), who is studying in the same college and falls in love with her. She also starts liking him when he saves her from another collegian Bobby ( Mohnish Behl ). They both plans to get married but Parul’s uncle, Jagpal ( Avtar Gill ) has already arranged her marraige with corrupt Police Inspector Suryadev Singh ( Shakti Kapoor ). When Suryadev learns about Raju and Parul’s relationship, he frames Raju in a murder case.

Suryadev then tries to marry Parul forcibly but before that she dies. Suryadev then sexually assaults Raju’s sister Laxmi. Laxmi looses her mental control. Raju manage to escape from the prison and takes Laxmi away from there. Raju relocates in a small village with a new identity of Birju. He hides his sister from the eyes of other people as he does not want the other people to know about her pregnancy. The a village Bijli ( Shilpa Shetty ) enters in his life, who is actually a police officer and is assigned to arrest him at any cost.
