Bollywod movie, Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar, directed by Rajendra Bhatia and written by S. Khalil was released in the year 1973. The movie starred Kiran Kumar and Radha Saluja in lead roles while Padma Khanna, Asrani, Arvind Trivedi, Narendra Nath, I. S. Johar, Helen, Paintal and Manju Asrani were also seen playing important roles in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the well knwon music director duo Shankar Jaikishen while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Usha Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Sunil Mehta ( Kiran Kumar ), who meets with a beautiful girl when he get stuck in a giant ferris wheel because of sudden power failure. Sunil then arrives his house next morning only to face the unwanted questions of his suspicious wife, Geeta ( Radha Saluja ). In order to get rid of her unwanted questions, Sunil invents a story about spending the whole night in the company of a fictious friend named Champak Boomia. Radha still disbelieves him and ask him to tell the address of his friend, Champak.

Geeta then writes a letter to Champak on the address told by Sunil. Sunil get shocked to know this and seeks help from his friend named Amit Desai ( Asrani ), who offers his a solution. Amit decides to pretend that he is Champak. Amit then goes to meet Geeta as Champak and convinces her that Sunil was telling truth to her. But problem arises when a real Chamapk Boomia shows up in the house.
