The movie Aaja Nachle was released on November 30, 2007 and was a production of Yash Raj Films. The movie has been directed by Anil Mehta and produced by Aditya Chopra. The actors who were in lead roles of the movie were Madhuri Dixit, Kunal Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Akshaye Khanna, Ranvir Shorey and Divya Dutta while Vinay Pathak, Yashpal Sharma, Akhilendra Mishra and Jugal Hansraj also played significant roles. The music of the film was directed by Salim and Sulaiman Merchant while the songs of the movie were sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghosal, Sonu Nigam and Kailash Kher.

The movie is not only important to the director but also to the actress Madhuri Dixit as she has made a comeback in the Bollywood with this film after she was married to Dr. Nene. The story of the movie is about a girl named Dia ( Madhuri Dixit ). Dia lived in town of Shamli but the all the peoples of the town didn’t like her when she fell in love. She was forced to leave the town, but someday she came to know that her dance guru Makarand ( Darshan Zariwala ) was at his last stages of life. So she went to Shamli once again and became a dance teacher there. She started remembering all the things she used to there.

To add to her problems, the Ajanta theatre where she used to act once was in danger of getting demolished. The theatre was her favorite but is now in danger at the hands of local political authorities. She made a plan to save her dearest theatre and asked Doctor ( Raghubir Yadav ) who was also the caretaker of it. She decided to produce a theatrical show but has to ensure that all the members of the show belonged to the town of Shamli only. She found actors in Imran ( Kunal Kapoor ), Anokhi ( Konkona Sen ), ex-MLA Chaudhary Om Singh ( Akhilendra Mishra ).
