Aakarshan was a romantic movie released in the year of 1988. The movie was directed as well as produced by Tanvir Ahmed. The significant roles in the movie were played by Sonu Walia, Rohini Hattangadi, Girish Karnad and Parveen Babi while there were special appearances by Smita Patil, Akbar Khan and Raj Babbar. The presence of Deepak Qazir and Sharon Prabhakar supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Ajit Singh while the songs were sung by Kavita Krishnamurthy, Kishore Kumar and Bhupinder.

One can guess the genre of the movie Aakarshan which happens to be a romantic flick. The story of the movie revolves around Priya ( Sonu Walia ) who plays an actress in the film. One day when she was shooting for a film, her life got in danger when some mishap occurred. Her life was then saved by another actor Akbar Khan in the film. Since that day she found herself attracted towards him and realized that she has started loving him.

Though it was fine with Priya, her elder sister Didi ( Rohini Hattangadi ) didn’t like the relationship as she disliked Akbar. But it was Priya’s love for Akbar that both got married to one another one day. Both lived after the marriage for some time until one day Akbar was paralyzed after some accident that was faced by him. Now it was a test of Priya who on one side loved her husband and on other side was required to overcome the difficulties provided as of him.
