Aakhri Baazi was an action and family drama released on April 14, 1989 under the banner of Shakti Films. The movie was directed by Shakti Samanta and produced byAshim Samanta. The lead roles in the film were enacted by Shatrughan Sinha, Govinda, Moushmi Chatterjee and Mandakini while the roles of Kunal Goswami, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Sonam, Pradeep Kumar and Sujit Kumar were also important. The music of the film was directed by Anu Malik while the songs were sung by Amit Kumar, Suresh Wadkar and Sadhana Sargam.

Aakhri Baazi was an action cum family movie that revolved mostly around a man named Ram Kumar ( Govinda ) who lives a wealthy lifestyle with his brother named Prashant Kumar ( Shatrughan Sinha ) and sister-in-law Parvati Kumar ( Moushmi Chatterjee ) in Calcutta. Since he was studying in school he was the est friend of an orphan named Laxman ( Kunal Goswami ). Laxman also lived with them. After some long years, Ram and Laxman have grown up.

Laxman is now a policeman with the Calcutta Police Force. He was very much dedicated and true to his duty and after seeing this quality of him, the Police Commissioner assigned him a task to catch and arrest the underworld don Cobra ( Pradeep Kumar ) and his gang. Laxman’s investigation leads him to the culprit, but before he could take any action, he is killed. Ram decides to take the revenge of Laxman’s death from Cobra. Then he started making plans for it.
