The movie Aamir was released on June 6, 2008 under the banner of UTV Spot Boy’s. Aamir is a social movie directed by Rajkumar Gupta and produced by Anurag Kashyap, Deven Khote, Ronnie Screwvala and Zarina Mehta. The actor in the lead role in the movie is Rajeev Khandelwal. The music of the movie is directed by Amit Trivedi and the singers of the movie are Amit Trivedi, Amitabh Varma, Murtuza Qadir, Neuman Pinto and Shilpa Rao.

The movie Aamir is not only the debut of Rajkumar Gupta as the director but also the debut movie of the actor Rajeev Khandelwal. Rajeev have some acting experience while working on the small screen and is also quite popular there. This was not a big film like others being produced in the Bollywood but a gripping one also. The name Aamir means a leader but the Aamir ( Rajeev Khandelwal ) in the film was nobody close to one. The fear inside him made him a follower. The moment he reached Mumbai, transformed his life making him exposed to a new world he has never seen before. The only thing wrong about him is that he is a Muslim.

Aamir lives in those parts of Mumbai mainly accommodated by Muslims and this gives him an idea of how is fellow religious brothers are living. He resides in poor areas of Mumbai amongst pimps and whores and cheap hotels and lodges. He was forced to follow orders on phone which resulted in his migration from one place to another. One day he was ordered to deliver a bag containing a bomb at the Andheri station and his movement was tracked down. Due to fear, he even does that. Aamir surrenders to the terrorism and his destiny.
