Bollywood movie, Aan Baan, directed by Prakash Mehra was released in the year 1972. The movie starred Rajendra Kumar and Rakhee Gulzar in lead roles while Jagdeep, Brahm Bhardwaj, Kumkum, Som Dutt, Anwar Hussain, Pran, Kanhaiyalal and Tabssum also played important roles in the film. The melodious music of the movie was composed by the well known music director duo Shankar-Jaikishen while the songs were rendered by Mohammed rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar etc.

Raja Bahadur ( Pran ) is having an affair with a prostitue named Dulari ( Kumkum ) but when she ask him to marry her, he simply refuses to it. He even has her brother, Kundan ( Anwar Hussain ) sent to jail. Raja Bahadur is very well known to the fact that soon his days as king of the region will end soon but he is just not want to accept this fact. Then his brother, Suraj ( Rajendra Kumar ) retruns to the region after completing his studies at abroad. Raja Bahadur keeps the chapter of Dulari a secret from Suraj.

Suraj meets with hsi neighbour’s daughter anmed Rekha ( Rakhee Gulzar ) and falls in love with her. They plan to get married soon and Rekha’s father Hiralal has no objection to this. But before their marriage could happen, Hiralal is tried to be robbed by two theifs. However, one of the thief manage to escape from there but the other one is arrested by police. After interrogation it is revealed that Raja Bahadur is behind the robbery. Police come to arrest him but Suraj decides to take the rap for him.
