Bollywood romantic movie, Aan Milo Sajna, directed by Mukul Dutt was released on December 24, 1970. The movie starred Rajesh Khanna and Asha Parekh in lead roles while Vinod Khanna played the anagonist in the movie. The other starcast of the film includes Nirupa Roy, Sujit Kumar, Aruna Irani, Rajendra Nath, Abhi Bhattacharya, Sunder, Mehmood Junior, Shivraj, Dulari and Birbal in important roles. The superhit music of the film was given by music director duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal while the songs were rendered by Kishoe Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc. The movie was a box office hit.

The movie starts with a rich guy Anil Chaudhary ( Vinod Khanna ) who is waiting her widowed mother to die so that he can inherit the wealth. But his mother, Savitri Chaudhary ( Nirupa Roy ), knows the bad intentions of her son and therefore refuses to give him a single penny from the wealth. Savitri’s diwan suggest Anil to get married and try to patch up with his mother. Anil decides to bring a girl to his home who will prentend to be his wife in front of his mother. He brings a beautiful girl named Deepali ( Asha Parekh ) to his home and introduce her to his mother. Soon Deepali wins Savitri’s trust and becomes her favourite. But Deepali is unaware of Anil’s real intentions of bringing her there.

Deepali meets with a local horse-riding peasant, Ajit ( Rajesh Khanna ), and soon they both falls in love with each other. Deepali keeps her identity a secret from Ajit. But soon Ajit reveals that Deepali is actually the fiancee of Anil and decides to keep a distance from her. Then Deepali tells him the truth that she is just pretending to be Anil’s fiancee in front of Savitri. Anil also learns about Deepali and Ajit relationship and frames Ajit in a rape and murder case.
